Great figure of a really well preserved feathered and super important dino, this model is amazing looking the pictures do not do it justice, it looks so good in person if the pictures look kinda off ( I thought so at first too) just trust it look so much better in person, it looks just like slightly iridescent feathers with the blue and faint purple, and the weight and quality is perfect. The scales look great so detailed, the feathers look just like real feathers, could not recommend this more 10/10.

I remember not being particularly drawn to this figure when I first saw images of it. It looked very drab and dark, especially compared to its more colourful BOTM counterpart. But pictures alone really don’t showcase the full depth of this figure, and after seeing the video review I placed my preorder. Now, having mine in hand, I feel like I made the right decision.

The spectrum of colours present is deceptively complex, with sheens of purple mixed in with the black, mimicking the iridescence of the bird feathers it’s based on. The blues progress through several different shades before culminating in flecks of white, a pattern that feels perfect for a snow-dwelling species. My one nitpick is that the eyes are a similar blue to what’s used elsewhere on the figure, and therefore don’t “pop” as much compared to the other version. I would have liked to maybe see a more complementary colour used, similar to how the original Yutyrannus had bright green eyes that contrasted nicely with the orange scales of the head.

As always, the articulation and attention-to-detail is immaculate. The inclusion of both old and new leg styles are a great showcase of how far this design – and the company as a whole – has come.

Absolutely wonderful figure, I own both the Beasts of the Mesozoic yutyrannus and this one, and I have to say that this one’s joints are MUCH easier to move and pose!

The coloration is very pretty, and the details are superb; standing beside the Beasts of the Mesozoic yuty, these two make a gorgeous pair on my desk!!
