Beasts of the Mesozoic & Cyberzoic: New Figure, Packaging & Production Updates
We’ve got a lot of exciting updates to share from our latest livestream, including new Beasts of the Mesozoic figures, production updates, packaging reveals, Cyberzoic news, and a closer look at several upcoming releases.
Beasts of the Mesozoic Production Updates
Several recently completed products are now moving into shipping. The B2 armors and riders have finished production and are expected to begin reaching customers in the first half of September.
The Utahraptor and Woolly Mammoth reissues are also currently shipping, while preparations continue for the upcoming Jungle Saber exclusive.
We are also preparing the final quantity of Atomic Allosaurus orders, with the remaining units expected to become available in an upcoming release.
Updated Figure Gets Major Articulation Improvements
One of the upcoming figures has received a significant round of updates, including a new head sculpt and several improvements to the articulation.
The updated version will feature:
- A new head sculpt
- Updated ankle articulation
- Improved hip articulation for a wider range of display poses
- An additional articulated neck segment
- An updated flexible hood piece
- Updated arms
With all of these changes combined, the figure is essentially becoming a substantially updated version of the original release.
New Beasts of the Cenozoic Figures Show Off Incredible Articulation
The livestream also featured a closer look at several Beasts of the Cenozoic figures, including the upcoming Dire Wolf and other figures from the wave.
The Dire Wolf was particularly impressive, with an extensive range of articulation that allows it to achieve remarkably natural poses. Its articulated tail includes a bendable wire, while the flexible spines can be moved into different positions without the same concern about them breaking off.
The realistic paint application also helps bring the figure to life, especially when combined with its extensive articulation.
Detailed Articulation and Posing
Another highlight was the articulation on the figure’s feet and toes. The newly developed toe articulation gives collectors even more control over the figure’s stance and poses, while alternate feet are included for collectors who prefer the original configuration.
The head and jaw articulation are equally impressive. The jaw can open extremely wide for aggressive poses and closes smoothly, while the lower jaw can tuck into the neck for a seamless appearance when the figure is posed roaring.
The combination of articulation, realistic paint, and sculpted detail makes these new Cenozoic figures some of the most advanced releases in the line yet.
New Packaging Designs Revealed
The livestream also provided a first look at newly completed Beasts of the Mesozoic packaging designs.
The packaging incorporates photography by Nutty, continuing the newer catalog-style approach to showcasing the figures. The photography places the animals into detailed environments that complement the artwork and help tell a story about each prehistoric animal.
One of the designs features a dramatic wildfire environment on the front, contrasted by cooler tones and an ash-covered landscape on the back. The contrast creates a unique visual effect that helps distinguish the packaging from previous releases.
The figures in this wave will also feature a special 10th anniversary emblem, marking the anniversary releases for Beasts of the Mesozoic.
New Cyberzoic Artwork and Lore
The livestream also revealed more information about Cyberzoic, including new artwork and details about how the story connects to the broader Cyberzoic universe.
The newly shown design takes place on Gaia during a prequel era before the Dragon Wars. The artwork features dramatic environmental elements, including fire and unusual trees that have also appeared in previous Cyberzoic artwork.
The team also teased the lore surrounding the set, which has been fully integrated into the Cyberzoic story. More details about the story and characters will be revealed as the project continues.
Cyberzoic Merchandise
New merchandise featuring the latest Cyberzoic artwork is also becoming available.
The collection includes items such as:
- T-shirts
- Stickers
- Other Cyberzoic merchandise
The merchandise store is also being reorganized into easier-to-browse collections as more designs are added.
Zoic Production Update
There was also a substantial update on Zoic, including a look at the first print run of the game’s instruction and rule book.
The printed colors and overall quality turned out extremely well, although a few adjustments are being made before the final version. The interior pages will be changed from glossy to matte, providing a better texture and making the pages easier to read.
The team is still working toward a September delivery, with only a few remaining production items left to complete.
Zoic Card Binder
Another upcoming Zoic accessory is the new premium Zoic card binder.
The binder includes a leather pocket on the inside front cover for storing additional gameplay items. The final pages will also feature custom-sized oversized card pockets designed to accommodate older cards that use a larger format.
The goal is to provide collectors with a single high-quality storage solution capable of holding the cards released throughout the game.
New Test Shots and 1:35 Triceratops Colors
The livestream also included new test shots and additional looks at upcoming designs.
One of the test-shot figures features a jetpack with a 5mm-compatible port, allowing certain blast effects from the armor accessories to be attached directly to the jetpack for flying poses.
A new 1:35 Triceratops color scheme was also shown. The design draws inspiration from colors and patterns used on the sub-adult Triceratops while introducing a fresh interpretation with silvery and cobalt-like blue tones.
The team also teased another upcoming reveal for the Beasts of the Mesozoic anniversary wave.
