Creative Beasts Live Episode 35: Short-Faced Bear Reveal, Dinosaur Restocks and Cyberzoic Updates

Creative Beasts Live Episode 35 featuring dinosaur restocks, Cyberzoic updates, and a short-faced bear reveal

A new prehistoric mammal, returning dinosaur favorites, and more Cyberzoic adventures are on the horizon! Creative Beasts Live Episode 35 brought together David Silva and the Creative Beast team for a Halloween-season livestream featuring a Beasts of the Cenozoic short-faced bear reveal, a closer look at upcoming Beasts of the Mesozoic reissues, and behind-the-scenes news about the Zoic trading card game.

From improved dinosaur articulation to new collectible card artwork, here are the highlights from the episode. Production schedules and release estimates below reflect the information shared during the livestream.

Beasts of the Cenozoic Short-Faced Bear Revealed

The episode’s big reveal was a first look at the short-faced bear sculpt being developed for Beasts of the Cenozoic. This upcoming prehistoric mammal will expand the collection with another exciting subject for collectors of articulated Ice Age animal figures.

The team discussed the possibilities for displaying the bear alongside other Cenozoic figures, including Smilodon. Articulation development is also a priority, with ideas aimed at capturing a wide range of expressive bear poses.

Final scale, coloration, pricing, and release timing were not confirmed. Both 1/18 scale and 1/12 scale versions were discussed as possibilities, with the final approach depending on the animal’s intended size and production costs.

Beasts of the Mesozoic Dinosaur Restocks Receive Updates

Collectors also received a closer look at returning Beasts of the Mesozoic dinosaur action figures. Selected reissues feature articulation improvements, paint refinements, or updated packaging while retaining the familiar designs that made the original releases popular.

Pachyrhinosaurus and Diabloceratops Feature Bendable Tails

The returning Pachyrhinosaurus and Diabloceratops feature bendable tails, adding more movement and variety to their display poses. The team demonstrated how this change gives the ceratopsians a more dynamic appearance.

The Pachyrhinosaurus reissue also carries forward the more secure jaw attachment previously introduced with the Fan’s Choice version, addressing the loose-jaw issue experienced with some original figures.

Dryptosaurus Returns with Updated Ankles

The Dryptosaurus reissue includes updated ankle articulation, bringing this returning theropod closer to the posing capabilities of more recent releases. The team also confirmed that the alternate posed legs remain included for collectors who prefer that display option.

For Cyberzoic fans, Dryptosaurus offers another exciting possibility: compatibility with the Gladius Prime armor.

Dilophosaurus Receives Paint Refinements

The returning Dilophosaurus action figure features refinements to its body paint application and additional detail on the crest. These adjustments aim to improve consistency while preserving the figure’s established appearance.

A stand extender is also included to provide additional display support.

Allosaurus fragilis Returns in 1/18 Scale

The team confirmed the return of 1/18 scale Allosaurus fragilis. This release was described as a straight reissue, giving collectors another opportunity to add the figure to their Beasts of the Mesozoic collection.

Updated Packaging Showcases Returning Favorites

Several returning figures were shown in refreshed packaging, including updated assortment information and expanded background artwork on selected boxes. The presentation gives these dinosaur collectibles a strong shelf presence, whether collectors display them in the package or alongside their existing figures.

Acro Wave Fulfillment and Restock Shipping Discussed

During the livestream, David explained the transportation challenges affecting the Beasts of the Mesozoic and Beasts of the Cenozoic Acro wave. Although the shipment had reached New York, congestion and trucking availability were delaying its transfer to the fulfillment warehouse.

The team also reported that the returning dinosaur assortment had shipped from the factory. At the time of recording, the restock shipment was expected to reach the United States in early December, with customer fulfillment to follow if transportation and warehouse processing proceeded as planned. Christmas delivery was not guaranteed.

Cyberzoic Wave B Highlights and Jetraptor Photography

The livestream celebrated the release of Cyberzoic Wave B armors and riders, including Jetraptor, Gladius Prime, Pyrodactyl, and Gunrunner. These sets expand the Cyberzoic world with new combinations of articulated dinosaurs, modular armor, and riders.

New Jetraptor photography by Nutty_Bakaz highlighted the armor’s versatility. Different wing positions, armor arrangements, and weapon placements demonstrated how collectors can customize the appearance of their Cyberzoic Utahraptor.

The team particularly enjoyed a configuration with the wings folded closer to the raptor’s body, showing how a simple adjustment can create a distinctive silhouette.

Cyberzoic Wave C and Crystal Dragon Development

The team announced plans to preview packaged Cyberzoic Wave C armors and riders at Legions Con. Those samples were intended for display rather than sale. At the time of the stream, production was targeted for completion near the end of the year, with shipping expected in the following year.

The Crystal Dragon also received a development update. Planned improvements include additional articulation in the fingers and hips. David discussed preparing the final casting for tooling, along with continued work on the armor prototype.

Behind the Scenes at the Factories and WonderFest Shanghai

Chris shared photographs and stories from a recent trip to China, including visits connected to figure production and the Zoic trading card game. The trip provided an opportunity to review manufacturing progress and discuss production issues directly with the factories.

The episode also featured highlights from WonderFest Shanghai, where the team met enthusiastic Creative Beast fans and displayed figures. Seeing the response from collectors overseas offered an exciting look at the growing international Creative Beast community.

Zoic Trading Card Game Production and Artwork Updates

The Zoic trading card game segment offered a look at card-pack production, including the machinery used to package individual booster packs. The team explained that production issues were still being addressed and that a revised release estimate had not yet been established.

Artwork highlights included the Emerald Triceratops mythic card, described as featuring holographic treatment, foil stamping, and a bonus gameplay ability compared with the regular Triceratops card.

Another featured illustration captured the dramatic Fire Clan armoring process, with Pyrodactyl descending toward Dilophosaurus. The team also revisited connected card artwork that combines into a larger prehistoric scene, adding another collectible element to Zoic.

New Dire Wolf Merchandise Designs

Two Dire Wolf merchandise designs debuted during the episode: a moon-themed design and a fiery design inspired by bold, retro wolf shirts. Both offered a different way for Beasts of the Cenozoic fans to celebrate the prehistoric canine.

The merchandise reveal included shirts, a moon-design sticker, and a mug featuring the fire-themed artwork.

Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus and Iguanodon Updates

During the closing questions, the team confirmed that the Tyrannosaurus rex wave was in tooling, with test shots anticipated later in the production process.

Spinosaurus and Iguanodon were also discussed as planned future releases. Exact wave arrangements and schedules were still being developed, so collectors can look forward to more detailed announcements as those projects progress.
