Monstors by Dave Igo: Kickstarter is live now!
Okay, I know this different from my usual content, but it’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about a new toy line and I just had to share it with you all. My toy industry buddy, Dave Igo, has created these amazing new animal hybrid action figures called MONSTORS! In a similar way that Cyberzoic is a spiritual successor to Dino Riders, Monstors is tapping into that 80’s and 90’s nostalgia for super fun toy lines like MOTU, TMNT, Street Sharks, and Extreme Dinosaurs, while still being it’s own thing. And the parts swapping gimmick makes these even better, especially if we get additional characters. I’m a sucker for cool animal-themed toy lines (see my Battle Beasts collection) and this feels like something that would have been a big hit back in the day. With these detailed sculpts and super-creative, colorful designs, it’s definitely bringing back a style that we rarely see in the modern action figure market.
