Coming into the BOTM line a bit later than most collectors, finally securing the Alectrosaurus olseni felt like a genuine win. With the other 1/18th scale juvenile Tyrannosaurus sized figures long sold out, this release fills an important niche in the lineup and does so with style.
The paintwork is immediately striking. The spotting, along with the subtle touches of white and blue, gives this specimen a distinctive presence without overwhelming the sculpt. At this scale, the articulation is impressive, offering a wide range of expressive poses while maintaining anatomical believability. As a mid sized theropod within the 1/18th line, it displays beautifully.
The sculpt itself is a standout. Comparing the skull to known fossil material makes it clear that significant research went into achieving scientific accuracy. The creative decision to include a vestigial third finger, a nod to tyrannosauroid evolutionary history, is a clever artistic flourish that adds character without compromising realism.
The included collector card adds a charming touch. The artwork, depicting two Alectrosaurus in a dynamic confrontation, carries a playful energy that amusingly mirrors the way my girlfriend’s cats sometimes square off.

Very nice figure, it is annoying when the right foot falls off and it is nearly impossible to chance the foot, but the paint is good, the articulation is top notch and the sculpt is very scientifically accurate so overall I definitely recommend this figure for any Botm fans 🙂
