Hands down the most beautiful beast in my collection. If you want a figure of an epic dragon design, this is the one!

I have a *BUNCH* of Dinos from the Beasts of the Mesozoic collection. So. I *LOVE* Dragons. When I had seen Kuraokami on this website I was like “OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THAT!!!!” Ordered last week, delivered Saturday. Fast ship appreeshed. Anyhow, this GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ARTWORK DRAGON EXCEEDS EXPECTATION! HOLYSMOKES!! The *FINE* details, the colors – photos on the website don’t do this Dragon justice!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!! Kuraokami is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

Massive. Majestic. Magnificent. This is a beast in every sense of the word.
There’s so much to love about this design, with the many real-world animal influences – crocodile-like tail, bear-like paws, bird-like beak and feathering – helping it feel more grounded and real. At the same time, the colourscheme adds a more fantastic, otherworldly nature to the design, as befitting of an alien dragon. There’s so much colour variation and detail in the feathering and scales that can’t be fully gleaned from the photos; as great as it looks online, it’s so much better in person.
The range of motion and stability in posing is also impressive for a figure of this size; I was even able to replicate the rearing up on two legs pose shown in the video review. My only criticism is that the wings (if they can even be called that) are a little lacklustre for a dragon, but based on what’s been seen of the next two dragons, this issue has been firmly remedied in future designs. Given the recent reveal that the new T-Rex design will feature articulated toes, I would have liked to see something similar in this dragon’s feet, as they’re definitely big enough for such a feature to be implemented. (Fingers crossed for an upgrade kit someday).
Nitpicks aside, for Creative Beast’s first foray into dragons, Kuraokami is absolutely glorious.
