Nathan G. –
I think this is genuinely the best figure Creative Beast Studio has produced yet. I was always one of those kids who loved dragons, and this is the kind of figure childhood me could only have dreamed of.
The articulation and attention to detail is exactly what I’ve come to expect from the company, with a great assortment of swappable parts that allow for plenty of unique poses. The long legs, tail, and wings make it appear bigger than it is, with the wings in particular being an absolute standout feature that give this figure a size and presence that even the previous dragon Kuraokami can’t compete with.
The Lizard Dragon’s design also strikes a really fun balance between fantastic and feasible. The lanky limbs and odd torso proportions give it a distinctly “alien” silhouette, but the colourscheme still feels very grounded and realistic for a forest-dwelling creature. Knowing of the various gliding reptiles that have existed in the fossil record, it’s very easy to pretend that this is actually a scale model of some obscure prehistoric species.
My only criticism is that the row of spikes running down the back are solid plastic and surprisingly pointy, which made it the dragon a little difficult to hold comfortably when attaching the wings and tail. But aside from that, I have no complaints. This is an awesome addition to my collection, and I can’t wait to see how the next dragon in the line turns out!
