Named By: Lawrence Lambe – 1902, renamed in 1914
Chasmosaurus belli was a Chasmosaurine of average size. The meaning of its name, ‘Opening Lizard’, refers to the large openings, or fenestras, on its frill. This species was originally named ‘Monoclonius belli’ in 1902.
